In reply to your communication of the 29th ult. regarding the outrages committed by William Killum Jr., Joseph Tubbs, Parish and Johnson I am directed by the Asst. Commissioner to say that your action in the case is approved.
 
If any of the perpetrators of the outrages are arrested you will order them to be held subject to orders from this Headquarters, forwarding statement of evidence and name of witnesses.

In reply to your communication of the 1 inst., regarding B.C. Dorsey, who shot a freedman, and persons thought to have been accessory thereto, I am directed by the Asst. Commissioner to state that your action is approved.

Investigate the case carefully and if the evidence will probably convict, report fully. The trial of a few cases in Waco by Military Commission is contemplated.
