I, Special Orders No. 62, current series from this office, relieving you from duty as an agent of the Bureau; also a copy of the application for your appointment with the indorsements on the same. By indorsement of General Howard, dated Sept. 24, 1868, you will observe that the application is disapproved. I am directed by General Reynolds to express his satisfaction with the manner in which you have discharged your duties while acting as agent of the Bureau, and his regret that the Commissioner has declined to make the appointment. Mr. Hiram Clark has been ordered to Victoria to relieve you and you will please retain the records of your office until his arrival.
