Colonel:
I have the honor to report that during last week I was most of the time in the lower corner of this county on the Trinity. In that community the freedmen are receiving better pay raising better crops than in any community in the county. They have suffered but little from the overflow. Messrs E Hyde and H Hyde of that place have done more to the Land and done it better than any planter in the county as far as I can learn.
Things are about as common in the county, I take the liberty to state that from what I can hear, and that from some of the most reliable union men in this place concerning Mr. Inge the agent in Leon County there are some good reasons why the feelings of the people are so much enraged against him
I am informed of reliable men who were knowing to the facts that before the
