Sir,
I have the honor to forward inspection Report of Freedmen in Houston Texas.

I have spent a good deal of time in visiting the various places where they are living and taking down their names &c &c according to forms furnished me.

The sanitary condition generally speaking is good, and the majority are living comfortably and doing well.

The number sick during the summer and now in proportion to the population has been and is very small.  No epidemics have prevailed, and but little sickness of any kind, except malarial fevers peculiar to
