this locality lives among them.

Whenever I found too many living to-gether, (which cases were few) I talked to them of the dangers of sickness, likely to result from too much crow-ding and neglect of proper Sanitary Measures, which Suggestions were generally carried out, and all necessary changes made.

There is a disposition on part of all to purchase or lease lots, and erect buildings. Many having already done so, and others only waiting until able. This Spirit is encouraged, (believing it much the wiser place for them to purchase and build, temporarily with view to enlarge their houses as soon as able,) in consequence of rents being very high, re-quiring as much money to reach one Year, as to purchase a lot an erect a comfortable dwelling. About one-hundred and twenty-five have purchased lots. Most of which have on them houses of their own building.
