I take the liberty of addressing you upon the matter stated below - A Freedman, Madison Lockhart was employed several months since by Messrs Yeaton and Nourse as an Engineer for their mill. It seems that there was some misunderstanding lately as to the amount the freedman was to receive per month. Messrs Yeaton and Nourse contended that they contracted to pay $50 coin per month; the freedman contended for $75 coin per month. There was no written contract.
