Eastman Johnsons but he had gone out.  I had a nice visit from Mr. Deforest a day or two ago and today he brought his brother to see my pictures.  Hamilton came the fore part of the week to make me an offer for my wood interior but I told him I would not take less than my price, and have half regretted it since for I very much need the money.  I am hoping he will come again.  Thompson made me a long visit today and Palmer came in on Tuesday seemingly no more happy and contented then we who are not getting along at all. Rossiters effects were sold this week including his pictures, caned furniture, books &c.  I went this evening and bought some French books.  

Tuesday Feb 11. Gertrude today forwarded her Ms. of the "Master Narcissist" to J. R. Osgood & Co.

Monday Feb 12. Wilmart came to measure my picture the "Danger Signal" today to box it for the Royal Academy Exhibition. It is to be ready friday noon. I wrote to Wells Fargo & Co from whom I received statement of terms &c to get it so that they could send it by Saturdays steamer.  Wrote to Rainger to whom it is to be consigned telling him it was coming and also telling him to send my October Snow home by W. F. & Co Express. Sent the note to the secretary of the R. A. tacked to the frame. It contained the title "Danger Signal" and price £200.

Thursday 13. Mr. Hurlburt called again today and was inclined to take my October in the Kaatskills for $1500 but of course did not come to the point. His wife is to come again and perhaps if they do not take one of W. T. Richards at $1000 at Gonpils they may take mine. I cant cope with Knoedler in selling.  We dined at Platts with Mr & Mrs. Frank Cheney, Miss Cheney and Mr. Goodman.
