Mr. Secor called last week to see me and the next day I received a note from him inquiring the price of my Kaatskill Woods. I replied $1000. He wrote me offering me $800 in Secor Sewing Machine Stock which he says he would not sell for 125. I have written him leaving the matter open. Wrote to Mr. Sawyer yesterday asking him what he knows of Mr. Secor. Wrote to John Durand. Wednesday 3. Wrote to Mr. James that I had ordered his picture sent to him and to remit to me here also to Wilmart to get the picture from the Academy and send it to him.
