Actg Asst Adjt General Bu R F & A L Texas Galveston, Texas Lieut I have the honor to forward the following receipt. Last evening I sent Actg General Williams Co K 6th US Cavalry with free men to arrest or if resisted Kill a man by the name of "Vivian." This man tho only 22 years of age is intelligent had become a perfect terror to the people living near him. He was found in the house of a man by the name of Alderman 14 miles from Tenn. When the soldiers entered only Mr. Alderman was present soon Vivian made his appearance from a side room with revolver in hands. The Corporal asked him if he was Vivian he said it was. The Cor'l said 2 arrest you give me your revolver (over)
