I have the honor to request that the following described Cotton - if it can be found - be seized and held until further orders. 

As far as I have learned the following is the description and Nicholas & Bro. Galveston the parties whom it was shipped. Supposed description:

3 Bales marked "W.S." numbered above 4 and less than 10 - 2 Bales of it weighing 460 lbs each and the other Bale weighing 454 lbs. Shipped by C.B. Hall or Hall and Co. Fayette County Texas.

This cotton is the product of the labor of some Freedmen in this County who have not been paid. [[strikethrough]] for this labor [[/strikethrough]] These are the facts: A Freedman named Austin Blakemore rented land and hired Six or Seven hands at Monthly wages to assist him in making a crop. As soon as three Bales of cotton were picked, Ginned, and Baled he places them in the hands of the above mentioned Hall, but upon what condition
