and was present during the Atlanta campaign until June 7, 1864 at which time owing to a disability that temporarily disabled me I resigned.
In February 1865 I received an appointment as Capt. in the 6th Regt. U.S. Vet. Vols (1st Army Corps) and passed the requisite examination serving in this regiment until April 17 1866 when I [[strikethrough]] se [[/strikethrough]] was mustered out and on the same date accepted an appointment as 2nd Lt. 17 US Infty to date from February 23 1866; was then promoted to 1 Lt to take effect the same date
Was on duty from May to Augt 1866 Comdg Co G 17 Inftry [[?]] [[?]] N H.H. and thirty days on Reg Recrtg. Service  In Nov 1866 was mad Post Adjutant Post of Galveston Texas and Actg Regtl. Adjt. 17 Inftry.
January 1867 was ordered to duty with Gen Kiddoo and in February 1867 with Bvt Maj Gen Chas Griffin as AAAG Bu Refugees & Freedmen for the state of Texas; which duty I am now performing
