I would respectfully request from you the appointment as Agent for the Bureau at Tyler, Smith County Texas, as I am informed you have no Agent at that place.

I can refer you to Lieut Charles Hardenbroke and Col De Gress with both of whom I am acquainted. My wish is to proceed to Tyler immediately if my application be successful
