Permit me to recommend to you, for an appointment of Sub Asst Comr. in your District Lieut. Col. M. [[Bloom]], late of the 32nd Ind. Vols. 
Colonel [[Bloom]] was mustered out of the Service of the U.S. with his Regt. on the 6th of Novbr 1865 and since then, has spent [[strikethrough]] most [[/strikethrouh]] most of his time, in travelling through this State, thereby gaining a great deal of experience, in regard to the social and political condition of its inhabitants.  His accomplishments, as a scholar and gentleman and his services, I hope, may gain him your kind consideration.
