I have acknowledged the receipt of Nos. 2, 3,4,7 and 8, telling the persons that you sailed for Europe yesterday.

In this morning's mail, I received your letter from the Waldorf, and note what you say relative to Mellie's extra allowance and of the purchase from Yamanaka & Company of a pair of screens and four pieces of pottery. I have told Stephen, when the shipment arrives, to take care of it.

The pastels went to St. Louis on the Tuesday afternoon train, and, as I asked Mr. Ives to advise me of their arrival, I hope for a letter from him to-morrow morning, informing me of the fact.

A registered package came from Mr. Bing yesterday. It contained photographic sheets, which, I presume, are the ones you referred to in your letter to Mr. Bing, written on April 29th. I am sending them to you, care of Brown, Shipley & Company, in the same mail as the letter.

Mr. John Stevenson came in day before yesterday, and paid $100.00 on account of his note, together with interest on the old balance.
