Miss Emma W. Palmer,
Stonington,
Conn.

Dear Madam:-

I beg leave to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 26th instant, relative to Mr. Freer and Mr. Whistler's painting, which letter I would take pleasure in sending Mr. Freer, were the time, before his leaving the other side, sufficient to insure its receipt by him.

As he plans to reach here about June 15th or 20th, I fear that a letter sent now, would miss him. When I hear definitely from him, as to the steamer on which he sails from Europe, I will send your letter to him at New York, that he may receive it upon his arrival in that city.

Yours very truly,
J.M. Kennedy
