33 #33 Ferry Avn., Detroit, Mich., April 27th, 1904. My dear Mr. Ushikubo:-- Referring to the conversation Mr. Dewing and myself had with you on Friday last, I beg to hand you herewith enclosed a tracing of Gallery 21 in the United States Department of The Fine Arts of the World's Fair at St. Louis for 1904. It is in this room the wood-carvings, which you so kindly promised to lend, are to be hang. You will see that the height from floor to cornice is 16 feet; and that the width of the two spaces for pictures on one [[crossedout]]room[[/crossedout]] wall is 5 feet each, that similar spaces on the two other [[crossedout]]rooms[[/crossedout]] walls are 6 feet each, and that on the wall in which there is no opening the width is 20 feet. Our idea was that for each of the four spaces 6 feet wide and the two spaces 5 feet wide, one speciment of wood-carving should be selected, that is, the six pieces would be for the six spaces. Over the fourth wall, that is, the one 20 feet wide, we thought two or three pieces could be used to good advantage. But we will leave all of this to your own good judgment. Will you kindly select the carvings and, when ready, ship them via
