Dear Mr. Eyre:--
During the time that your recent drawings have been in my possession, I have devoted a lot of time to their study, and am now writing to you certain suggestions which have occurred to me:-

Cellars.
Please excavate under the two new additions, so as to provide for cellars under each.

Chimneys.
Let the new chimneys for the two additions provide flues for heaters in each of the new cellars. It is not at all likely that either will be used for this purpose in the near future, but some day, they may be required.

Please arrange for cellar windows opening on the alley beneath the kitchen on the east addition, and arrange for one cellar window on alley for west addition, making it large enough to use as a coal chute. Also include a cellar window beneath the Blue Room on west end, letting it open on the west wall.

FIRST FLOOR.
Divide the floor space of the east addition into a kitchen, and living-room. Arrange the chimney for a kitchen range, and provide pantry and steps to cellar.

Close all the proposed windows in the east wall, and the proposed door leading from the kitchen into the unpacking room. Give the kitchen two windows and one door in the north wall opening on the alley.
