45 33 33 Ferry Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, April 28th, 1904. D. J. R. Ushikubo, Esq., of Messrs. Yamanaka & Co., #254 Fifth Avenue, New York City. Dear Mr. Ushikubo:— I beg to enclose herewith a list of kakemono and makemono owned by Mr. M. Tomkinson of Kidderminster, England. The entire lot is for sale, and, at the estimates shows on the enclosed sheets, the total estimate value is [[strikethrough]] L [[\strikethrough]] 1,069 - 10 - 0. Mr. Tomkinson does not want to sell these in England, but has offered me the entire number for [[strikethrough]] L [[\strikethrough]] 500, i. e., $2,500.00. The thought has occurred to me that possibly it might be worth our while to consider a joint purchase of the entire lot, with the understanding that we should make an agreeable distribution between ourselves. Do you think it worth while? Please consider it carefully, and I will call upon you on Tuesday next for a full discussion of the matter. Until then, please consider the matter confidential, excepting, of course, to your business associates. Yours very sincerely, Charles L. Freer
