46 [[underlined]]29[[/underlined]] Detroit, Michigan April 28th, 1904. My dear Mr. Eddy:-- Our letters of yesterday passed each other in the mail. Let me thank you for so promptly sending to me a copy of Mr. Dyrenforth's opinion concerning the copyright of "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies". The situation looks much more hopeful, and I have to-day forwarded to Miss. Birnie-Philip a copy of your letter and also the one of Mr. Dyrenforth's, both of which, I am sure, will receive ardent welcome. Let me thank you in both her behalf and my own. I expect to sail on the "Oceanic" on Wednesday next, the 4th instant, and after having seen Miss. Birnie-Philip, I shall write you again from there. Yours very truly, Charles L. Freer Arthur J. Eddy, Esq., c/o Eddy, Haley & Wetten, The Temple, Chicago, Ills.
