Mr Hall has also informed me that the judgment on the specimens of K'ossu tapestry was wholly unfavourable.  I bought these as genuine Sung examples (as it is unnecessary for me to say).  If Sung specimens they be, (as frankly I still believe them), they are of great value, but if they are modern imitations, they are naturally of no interest and my Chinese friends would have misled me. In regard to the tapestry, however, after now hearing the considered opinion of your good self, I shall go rigorously into the provenance and history of each specimen.  In regard to
