Dear Mrs Mason,

This Committee is planning a short program Tuesday February 14th at 2:30 P.M to honor the 139th anniversary of Frederick Douglass's birth at the Memorial Home 1411 W Street SE. All the southeast area schools have been asked to participate.

We would appreciate very much a short letter from your organization upon the occasion of Douglass's birth These letters will be read and become a part of the archives of the Douglass Memorial. The letters should be in by Feb. 10,1956.

It is the desire of the Committee and myself to make this an annual occasion to honor the memory of Frederick Douglass"The Sage Of Anacostia" who did so much for our freedom and was a great American and a distinguished Washington citizen.

Very truly yours,

Charles E.Qualls
General Chairman
