Personally appeared before me George Napoleon who says on oath that He was with Dr Hunsaker at J.J. Woodson Store in the town of Crockett on the evening of the 24 of of Sept. 1867 - I heard the Dr say that the guard must behave themselves insult no person or injure no property and if they did that he would hold them responsible  No injury was done to any person or any property, or any was made to that effect - I was one of his guard and we arrested Miller and would have brought him to the Bureau Agent but the citizens told us to turn him loose, that we were doing a bad thing and others having fire arms said that Miller should not go to jail, We let Miller go because we saw that we could not execute the Drs. orders  Wile we had Miller under arrest he cursed the bureau agent, the U.S. goverment &c.  other citizens did the same - I was with Dr Hunsaker from about twilight on the evening of the 24 Sept till 3, o'clock that night - Dr Hunsaker was not drunk, nor did I see any stimulating liquors with him or his guard.
