Circular Letter.

The following information having been called for by the Secretary of War for insertion in the "Biennial Register". Assistant Commissioners of this Bureau are directed to forward to this office during the month of September, a list of the Civilian employés in their respective districts under the following heads. Agents-Clerks-Messengers & laborers, giving the name, the state where born, from what state employed, and the amount of annual compensation.
A Blank form is herewith enclosed, and it is desired that these lists should be made upon forms precisely similar.
