agreed upon in their compromise with Mess Crisp & Cook- which is ($2850) Twenty eight hundred & fifty dollars in specie.

After a patient & as equitable a hearing as it was possible to give each account having been sworn to I find Dr. John H. Crisp indebted to his freedmen to the amount of $4880.50/100) Four Thousand eight hundred & eighty 50/100 dollars specie for the year 1865 alone the claims for last & this year I have not as yet adjudicated. I forward you a synopsis of the accounts. 

I also enclose sworn statements of a number of the freedmen & of J.A. Seymour showing that he paid that year Dr.Crisp for one of his freedmen for which he was not paid. I also forward certified copies of the deed of trust to R.V. Cook, Power of Attorney to D.H. Crisp & Bill of Sale and advertisement of sale.
