P.S. I omitted to state above the ground of the Mayor's decision of the cause of this being an aggravated assault - it is because during the earlier part of the quarantine during the late epidemic Moore was appointed on the police by D. D. Claiborne then Mayor, & that Taylor was resisting a lawful officer but to controvert this no arrest had either been made or attempted by Moore & few persons knew that he was on the force he having gone to work daily & lives outside of the corporation consequent
