Office Sub Asst Commissioner
B.R.F. & A.L. 12th Sub Dist.
Richmond Tex Feby 4th 68

E.B.4
Respectfully returned
This action is entirely a military one, wherein there is no civil process. I do not wish it to be understood that I refuse to obey a writ of "Habeas Corpus", but I for the present decline obeying this writ until I hear from my immediate Commander. Gen'l Reynolds, and therefore respectfully request that a copy of, or that this writ be furnished or returned to me to be forwarded to Brvt Genl J. J. Reynolds.
