I have the honor to report that we have at this place an organized Ku Klux Klan They began operations May 1st 1868 by threats of violence upon the freedmen if they held a May party. I did not think there was an organization but only some wild boys who wished to frighten the freedmen and instructed the teacher to let the scholars go on with their party but they became thoroughly frightened and held their party in the school house
