I have the honor to transmit herewith affidavits in regard to the indebtedness of Major E. M. Harris as directed in letter of instructions of the 17th inst.

It will be a very difficult matter & take considerable time to ascertain the amount paid to the Major for building the school house. I will forward in a few days affidavits in regard to contracts.
