unting - Mother told him she thought it a negro woman who took out the drawers. had taken the money.  He replied by saying he thought it a man.  Mother stated that she thought it was Negro woman, because a woman could steal as well as a man - He said no, you are mistaken - that it was a man - He did not show me the piece of rag found 1 1/2 miles from town - Mother had $100 in Gold - Did not tell me how he came to find the rag. - Know nothing of his occupation or how long he has been here.  

Was in the house when the furniture was moved - Think the furniture was in the yard about two hours. - Had not seen the money for some time before the fire - nor since - I did not know where the money was - Mother had sold some property a short time before the 27th Inst. - The property consisted of a house and lot - I know how much the property sold for. - and that Mother secured the amt for which it was sold.  This was a short time previous to the fire - The property sold had been occupied by Mother before she moved - Soon after the sale Mother moved into the new building which she at present occupies. 

Mother moved in the new house on Wednesday before the fire: - John Armuiel assisted Mother in moving - Larkin (black man) also assisted in moving, and in building the house
