Larkin was about a great deal during the building of the house_ Did not see the prisoner when he left the house_ He did not come back to our house.

Cross Examination.-  There was no one at the fire when I was first awoke by my mother_ There were a great many colored people about the house during the fire and but four whites

Re Examination in Chief.  The prisoner stated that he would try and get the money and that he thought he could get it if mother would pay him $10_ He asked mother if he would bring the man and money would she give him $10_ Mother said she would_

Testimony of
Mr Webb - I know nothing of the charge_ The first I saw of the prisoner was on Tuesday or Wednesday of last week at Mrs Currie's boarding house_ Mrs Currie informed him on friday Evening that she could not entertain him longer_ He left Mrs Curries on friday night about half hour after dark_ Know nothing of his occupation  Never saw him in Columbus previous to last Tuesday Evening_ Think I have seen him in Houston but cannot say positively_ this is to the best of my knowledge_ I cannot
