My dear Mr. Morse:-

I have your note of the 13th instant, and the print by Hiroshige has, also, been received. The print is a very beautiful one, especially in color, and I am glad to have it for study. It certainly offers charming combinations of carmine and black, and who knows what may grow out of it!

I am leaving Detroit to-night. Shall spend tomorrow fore-noon in the Buffalo Museum and reach my farm Saturday morning. After spending a short time there I shall go to New York and Philadelphia; returning to Detroit about ten days later.

I hope you will find something of real interest amongst the Matsuki prints. A note received from Matsuki, yesterday, told me that he had sent you the best of his prints and that he hoped to go out of Chicago within a few days to see you.

With all good wishes, and kindest regards to both yourself and Mrs. Morse, believe me,

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer
