Gentlemen:-
Upon the receipt of your letter of the 16th instant, relative to the glass for diffusing sash for Mr. Charles L. Freer's gallery, with which was enclosed a copy of a letter to you from the William Reid Company, this city, I communicated with the William Reid Company for the purpose of learning the reason for their not obtaining the sizes for the glass.

Their statement to me was about the same as that conveyed in their letter of December 8th to you, and which was made upon the statement of one of their workmen who was sent to the job to get the desired information from the sash measurements. At my request, their Foreman visited the gallery to-day, and he says that he has all the necessary information for the glass, and it will be forwarded to you without delay.
