Mr. John M. Donaldson,
Donaldson & Meyer,
Penobscot Building,
Detroit, Mich.,

Dear Mr. Donaldson:

Mr. Charles A. Platt, who is designing the museum building in which I am interested and which is to be erected in Washington, desires a scale plan of the Peacock Room, and I am wondering if you will kindly have it prepared. If you will I shall appreciate it as a favor, and shall of course expect to pay your regular charges for the work.

In a letter received from Mr. Platt, he says, "In writing to Mr. Donaldson about the Peacock Room, what I require is a 3/4 scale plan with the elevation of the four walls of the room and one of the ceiling. These elevations do not need to be carried out in full detail, but I shall need absolutely exact details of the windows and of the one door because my openings in the building will have to correspond to these. Of the jambs of the windows I shall need full size sections in addition to the 3/4 scale measure drawings. If Mr. Donaldson understands that these plans are to enable me to fit the room into the new building, he will I am sure add anything to the above which he thinks I shall need."

With this before you, I think you will understand exactly what Mr. Platt wishes. I might add for myself that I think it wise to give proper measurements of the two inner doors of the Peacock Room as well as the one outer door referred to by Mr. Platt, as I think that the inner doors differ considerably from the outer door.

Wishing you and yours a very happy holiday season, I remain,

Yours very truly,

F
