I am glad that you had a chance to see Watson and Anna and their little sufferer. Even a couple of hours with you did them good. A letter from Anna came this morning and I judge from what both you and she have written that little Louise will after all pull through and recover fully. Good! It will be interesting to see what influence the President will bring to bear upon the Smithsonian Trustees! Thanks also for this information.

Touraine pleases me greatly! It is a country of great beauty of nature as well as of art and history. My visit was made at the right season (harvest) and in perfect weather. I started early every morning and did lots of driving-saw practically everything I planned and learned new lessons of the power of Whistler's selection of subjects for both painting and etching. I have examples in both mediums done throughout Lorraine during the late eighties. I am well and pleased with the beautiful experiences being found day by day. Next Saturday or Sunday I shall go back to London leaving other things in France to be done another year. With kindest regards

Very sincerely yours
Charles L. Freer
