Dr. Mann has recently purchase a very comfortable villa at Allasio between Genoa and Nice, and when it is furnished he intends to rent it carried me completely off my feet and after two days of examination assisted by two Greek Scholars I fell by the wayside. As I wish the purchase kept quite private, I trust you will not mention it outside.
 
The Doctor and I shall go up the Nile by rail stopping at a few important points only, but when we shall start or end we know not, however, I think we are both likely to be within easy reach of Cairo by wire, up to about January 15th next.
