fearfully the death roll is increasing! George Stillman, too, had to go --- how sad the Barbour family must be --- poor Stella! And Anna's nurse for little Louise!

You are very kind in keeping me so fully informed concerning Anna's condition --- unfavorable and disappointing though it is. Still, the latest news of her is more encouraging and I am constantly hoping that each succeeding letter will bring better and better word. Arizona, was without doubt, the right place for her and a couple of weeks with Grace, in Kansas City, will, I am sure, give them both pleasure. I wish there was some way by which I could help.

The news you sent concerning business and other matters gave me pleasure. Having seen so little concerning America in the few newspapers picked up at odd hours in faraway places, I was very much in the dark. Thanks too, for the newspaper clippings. As soon as I recover from all the excitement of happenings here, I shall make plans for the future and advise you. Do give my kindest regards to your family and all enquiring friends.

Very sincerely yours
Charles L. Freer

Long hand.
