Dear Colonel,

My week in Paris ends tomorrow, Sunday morning, and than I go to London, from whence I start homeward on the 26th inst. via Southampton and S.S. Adriatic. So, I should, if all goes well, reach Detroit about Saturday, Sept. 5th. I wired you today:- "Segment Adriatic August 26th London tomorrow". My stay here has been delightful owing largely to Mons. Migeon's charming courtesies. He has not only shown me the French National treasures at the Louvre during closed days and early and late hours. his own collection and home, but others of great importance as well: especially that of Mr. Doucey --- the best 18th century collection in France!

These opportunities and others of like interest enjoyed since leaving Detroit, in April, have, I feel, helped me in my efforts to understand beauty in a wider way and will I trust, show favorable some time in my collection.

Your trip to Lake Superior is now on and you and your guests are having a splendid voyage, I hope. During it you will have good air, good fishing and much rest, I trust. To you and your family and inquiring friends I send warmest regards,

Always sincerely your friend
Charles L. Freer.

P.S. When you see Cam give him a nice thought for me.

Long hand.
