the average health - what with a foot on the ship, and a swelled hand in Paris - I looked for better things in London.  But here the thing has culminated, and now I know that my blood has needed attention from some months. Recently a swelling came on my right jaw which was painful and was lanced by Dr. Davenport, Whistler's Dr. today, and he says that after next Tuesday I'll be alright again. I'm taking proper medicine and the best of care of myself and will be all right again next week. Nothing worth mentioning is wrong with me, but it keeps me from doing a lot of attractive things which are offering here. 

However, I am planning to remain here until about the 28th or 29th and so will have a chance to catch up. After London, I shall go to Ostend, Bourges, Ghent, Brussels, Mons, Antwerp, Berlin and from Berlin determine where thereafter.
