Dear Colonel Hecker,

The find of persian pottery which I stumble upon here at Larkin's Store, is panning out the greatest collection ever exported from Persia. I have never seen together at any place public or private so many marvellous specimens. I have already bought 12 pieces finer than is owned in any Museum --- and while the prices are low comparatively speaking they run up into the thousands of pounds.

I have paid in cash for one piece --- the 11 others cost £ 2,950 and some pieces are to be submitted tomorros. I shall have to draw for a part or all of this acct.tomorrow.

I have also bought from Wallie and Son two superb Whistler pastels at a cost of £ 519.15 --- the bill for the latter will go to Mr. Kennedy tomorrow along with details of the Larkin purchase. To provide funds to meet the above accts. and to remit the £ 1,250 to Miss Birni-Philip and the £ 15,000 to Tabbagh I am wiring you a request to sell all of the L.S. and M.S.Bonds --- which I trust you will do. Will write more fully in a day or two --- well.

With kindest messages
Yours very sincerely
Charles L. Freer

P.S. Am hurrying this off in tomorrow's mail.

Long hand.
