last of October. After a week or ten days in Kioto I shall go by train to Yokohama - spend the second week or two in that vicinity and on November 24th sail homeward from Yokohama on the "Mongolia" of Pacific mail, via San Francisco - where our ship is due to arrive on Decem 10th. If these connections are made I should arrive home about December 17th.

Here I have accomplished far more than I deemed possible and my material accumulations will be taken tomorrow to Tientsin for shipment direct to Detroit. I shall write Mr. Kennedy within a day or two after the shipment starts, giving him full particulars and shall request him to show the documents to you - they will show the work done more clearly than I could set forth without writing many pages. The things packed away in my head and heart since my arrival at Hong Kong a month ago, are to me of still greater importance. What more need be said about my trip thus far? That you and yours are equally pleased with your summer is my earnest wish.

Yours very sincerely
Charles L Freer

My address at both Shanghai and Yokohama remains care of Hongkong, Shanghai Bank.
