thoroughly settled much earlier than the Holidays. Mr.Gault has, however, agreed to do a little work for me before I leave: that is, he will make a few negatives wanted by Migeon, but of course, the prints cannot be gotten out before some little time later.

The books, too, may be sent to my address whenever they are ready. If they come in time it will enable me to have them entered in my catalogue and placed along with other books which I have willed to the Smithsonian. In order to avoid confusion in case of accident to me, everything intended for the Smithsonian is being kept in separate places and entered in separate catalogues and this arrangement will, I am sure, avoid misunderstandings or errors in the future.

Matsuki reached Seattle yesterday and I fancy he will arrive in Detroit about Tuesday or Wednesday next. I am wondering if you would enjoy meeting him here, say, on Wednesday next. Can and will you come? I should be glad indeed to have us three see the Kakei together and such other things as Matsuki may brought with him. He will probably remain two or three days.
