On Saturday last, Col. Hecker received your cablegram stating that you would sail from Port Said for Ceylon on the 21st, and remain at Ceylon two weeks, therefore, as there seems insuffiecient time in which to get this letter to you at Ceylon, I am sending it to Batavia. I trust that you returned from your trip up the Nile in good condition, and that your journey to Ceylon proved interesting and healthful to you.
