Gentlemen:-

Your letter of the 18th inst., addressed to Mr. Charles L. Freer, relative to a Whistler painting, was opened by me in Mr. Freer's absence.

Mr. Freer is traveling about in the Orient, and does not expect to return home before June, next. I am writing him to-day, and will take pleasure in enclosing therewith, your letter.

I note that you will send a photograph of the picture as soon as you have one printed, and upon its receipt, I shall be pleased to forward it to Mr. Freer.

Very truly yours,
J M Kennedy
