March 21st, 1907.

Col. H.J. Scott, U. S. A.,
Sup't, U.S. Military Academy,
West Point, N.Y.

Dear Sir:-

Your letter of March 18th, addressed to Mr. Charles L. Freer, has been opened by me in his absence.

Mr. Freer sailed to the Orient in November last; is now en route from Java to Japan and expects to return home the latter part of June.

Owing to the illness of Mr. Saint-Gaudens, the Memorial Tablet of Mr. Whistler, for which Mr. Freer gave him a commission, has been delayed, but is in process of execution. My last advices are that the model is finished in clay, and will in all probability be completed about the time of, or shortly after, Mr. Freer's return.

Your letter will be forwarded to him at Yokohama, to-day.

Very respectfully yours,
Frank J Hecker
