Dear Mr. Freer:-

Your night message sent from New York before leaving for the Farm, was received this morning, and I note that you have abandoned your proposed visit to Mr. Saint-Gauudens, and will return to New York Saturday night, hence I am sending this letter to the Hotel Belmont.

The following letters, enclosed herewith, were received in to-day's mail:-

No. 10. Postmarked New York, Station "E"
No. 11. Postmarked Glasgow,
No. 12. From Mr. W. K. Bixby, St. Louis,
No. 13. From Fredrick Keppel & Company.

The painting from Obach has been received and inspected, and is being delivered at the house by the Express Company, this afternoon.

Colonel Hecker returned from the "Flats" this morning feeling good from his outing.

Everything quiet here.
