My dear Mr. Drake:-

On Saturday evening last your message came, reading-

"Shall we send proofs of three new plates to you at Detroit, or will you be in New York soon ?"

and in reply, I promptly wired you as follows:

"Unnecessary to submit proofs to me. Do as agreed at our meeting last week and all will be well. Shall be in Detroit until November twelfth.
Charles L. Freer".

I feel that our recent conference made quite plain to us both the necessity of preventing the elimination of,the work of the artist who did the pictures which are to be re-produced in Miss Mechlin' article, and as we both agreed upon the proper methods to follow
