THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART
NEW YORK 19

11 WEST 53RD STREET
TELEPHONE: CIRCLE 5-8900
CABLES, MODERNART, NEW-YORK

SEPTEMBER 14, 1950

Dear Mr. Seligman:
Mr. William Burden wrote you early in July asking you to become a Contributing Member of the Museum of Modern Art. As he has had no answer to his letter, he asked me to write you again concerning this matter.

The Museum count on the support of certain Corporations and individuals over and above the cost of membership to make possible the growth and development of its program. I hope you will feel you can increase your present $20.00 Participating Membership to a Contributing one.

If you do this, you will receive added privileges, such as; all Museum books and publications (average of 8). You will be asked to Private Previews of both films and exhibitions, and to a series of visits to the house and apartments of collectors.

I would appreciate your letting me know about this matter as we should like to date your membership as of October.

Sincerely yours,
Emily C. Woodruff
