I received from Singpore a letter addressed to myself from Mr. M. Abraham, enclosing to consular invoices and a bill of lading covering a shipment of six cses containing seventeen metal figures shipped from Singapore on Aril 1st, and consigned to you in bond to Detroit. The papers seem to e regular and there should be no difficulty in having the goods pssed through the Customers House upon their receipt. I am also please o advise you that in this afternoon's mail came a notice from the Unites States Express Company in New York, stating that they were shippin to Detroit a case which arrived from Alexandria. It is coming by M. [[?]] T. and has the initials "J.B.C." thereon. This case, I fancy, contain the missing pottery and other things which were missing from the earlier shipment. It should be here in a few days and I shall advise you after they are received.

On April 23rd, I received your letter written at Batavia on March 155th requesting me to send $200.00 to Miss. Krom. I mailed her a draft for the amount on the same day and have the receipted voucher back. A few days ago I received your letter written at Batavia on March 21st and thank you for the full explanation concerning Hatashita's paper matter. He has been in to see the Colonel and is coming in again in a few days. I remember the broker, Mr. Delano's coming in to see you a number of times, but of course, did not connect him with Hatashida's matter. Your description fits him exactly. I have attended to the matter of subscriptions to publications, etc. which were enclosed in your letter. I hope the envelope containing enclosures 245 to 254 which had not turned up when you wrote me, found you later.
