Following the circulation of this memorial and the one addressed to the Secretary of State, among interested institutions and individuals, the American Association of Museums, which convented at Milwaukee, May 19th, 1914, passed resolutions condemning the destruction and commercialization of objects of historical and artistic interest in China.
