Freer, Dear Sir; I have no doubt that you have got home safely in good health after long voyage, I ought have sent you the bronze vase which you bought of me sooner. considering the best way to shippe, I was hesitated to send it to you through my correspondents who has no experience for I was anxious of that such a valuable treasure would not be injour by the wrong treatment. Fortunatly the best way I found is by the opportunity Mr. Kihachiro Matsuki is expecting the steamer for America on the end of this month, so I will send it to you under his care as he is willingly to take it for you on the same board, it will be in your hand as soon as his arrival. Pray accept my thanks for your special patronage during your sojourn in Kyoto, and also for your kind viste to my villa At Arashiyama in spite of your time were wasted for us.
