Mr. Charles L. Freer,

Dear Sir;

I have no doubt that you have got home safely in good
health after long voyage, I ought have sent you the bronze vase
which you bought of me sooner. considering the best way to shippe,
I was hesitated to send it to you through my correspondents who
has no experience for I was anxious of that such a valuable
treasure would not be injour by the wrong treatment. Fortunatly
the best way I found is by the opportunity Mr. Kihachiro Matsuki
is expecting the steamer for America on the end of this month, so
I will send it to you under his care as he is willingly to take it
for you on the same board, it will be in your hand as soon as his
arrival.

Pray accept my thanks for your special patronage during
your sojourn in Kyoto, and also for your kind viste to my villa
At Arashiyama in spite of your time were wasted for us. Hoping
to see you befor long with my best regards.
